Can You Negotiate the Price of a New Car?

If you’re thinking about buying a Maserati, right away you know that this is going to be a pretty big expense. There are ways, however, in which you may be able to cut your costs. Our Maserati finance department goes over price negotiations and other things you may be able to do.

Negotiating the Sale Price

While dealerships of course want to make money, reputable ones also want to help their customers save money. This is why for the most part, the sticker prices on vehicles are about as low as they can go. It never hurts, however, to see if a dealer is able to knock off a few dollars.

Negotiating the Trade-In

You will have a lot more negotiation power with your own car, namely, your trade-in vehicle. This is why you should find out what it’s worth before heading down to the dealership. With used cars in high demand, you should be able to get a very good price for it.

More Ways to Reduce Expenses

Negotiations aside, there are other ways to save money on your purchase. If you have the means, you could consider paying in cash. This will eliminate the need to make any interest payments. You could also go with a pre-owned or Certified Pre-Owned model. If you will be financing, supplying a big down payment will help reduce how much you will need to borrow, which will lower your monthly payments.
